Become a Foster

Fostering is one of the most rewarding ways to help cats in need. Whether you can help for a few weeks or several months, opening your home can make the difference between a cat remaining at risk or finding a loving forever family.

Our foster application link is under construction. If you'd like to become a foster, please send us an email.

Why Foster?

Help save lives. Fostering gives vulnerable cats and kittens a safe place to stay while they receive veterinary care, grow, recover, learn to be an indoor cat and wait for their forever homes. Every foster home frees up space for another cat in need.

What We Provide

You provide the love, we provide the support. The Diary of Rescue Cats provides veterinary care, vaccinations, desexing, microchipping and ongoing rescue support. Depending on availability, we endeavour to provide food, bedding, litter, and other supplies where we can. However, fosters being able to provide food, litter and other consumables is a huge help being a majority self-funded rescue.

What We Ask From You

A safe and caring temporary home. Fosters provide daily care, socialisation, transport to appointments when possible, and updates so we can share each cat's journey and find them the perfect home.

Who Can Foster?

Whether you're new to fostering or have years of experience, we welcome compassionate people willing to learn. Potential foster carers are required to be over the age of 18 and have approval to house animals if you are renting.
